Previously on…
Clarifications, reunions, and stray bullets.
While Igor and Pancho faced the truth and sealed their wounds with a kiss in public, Lolo received news that Otto had been injured in an assault. Amid memories, confessions, and a destiny no one can control, some learned that sometimes opening your eyes just in time can change everything.
“DESTINY OR COINCIDENCE”
The alarm rings at 6:30 a.m., and Lolo wakes up Toby to take him to kindergarten…
He doesn’t stop looking at his phone, even when he gets in the shower. As he lathers up, thoughts of Jesica—and maybe also that crazy story Otto told him—keep circling his mind. Suddenly, he can’t hold back an erection—something that hadn’t happened naturally in a long time, only when watching a movie…
So, after a great moment, the week starts off on a high!
“The weather in the city looked stormy, maybe like it would feel for many…”
Ismael eats breakfast with his parents and gets ready for the rideshare that’ll take him to work.
He keeps wondering whether he should message Matías or not!
When he arrives, his boss calls him into the office and tells him that business has slowed down a lot and they have to cut staff—and since Ismael was one of the last hires, he was being let go. The boss said he was really sorry and that he’d call him back as soon as things picked up again.
Too sad to even speak, Ismael sends a message to his mom with the news and says he’s heading to the hospital to visit Otto and see how he’s doing.
In the group chat he writes:
“Hey babes, happy Monday! If anyone knows of a job opening, let me know… I’ve just joined the unemployed club…”
As he dodges the puddles left behind by sudden rain and listens to some emotional music on Spotify, the song “Destino o Casualidad” comes on. At that very moment, he sees that his ex has updated his relationship status to “In a relationship.”
What else could go wrong?
Well—always something more…
Just then, a motorcycle hits a pothole and splashes water all over him!
He screams in frustration. The bike stops, and someone taps him on the shoulder, asking if he’s okay.
When he turns around, he sees what looks like a model, and is left speechless.
I: “A little soaked, unemployed, horrible weather, and my ex just started a new relationship… After all that, yeah, I’m okay, thanks for asking.”
M: “Well, how about we start turning that bad streak around?
My name’s Mike—would you let me buy you a coffee to apologize, and maybe we can chat a bit?”
I: “OK! I’m Ismael—and I swear I usually look way better than this!”
Roque, not working that day, decides to visit the cemetery. He needs a little peace—and to connect with his father. To share his successes. To escape his mother’s superficial world, where all she cares about is status, appearances, and having a son slim enough not to embarrass her.
“If we truly let ourselves be guided by appearances, we’d miss out on incredible things…
Like a simple puddle that might just shift your destiny.”
Meanwhile, Lolo is carving up half a carcass in the freezing cold meat freezer.
A coworker urgently asks him for a cut—for a beautiful woman, he says. Lolo laughs, knowing this guy calls every woman beautiful.
But to his surprise, when he brings the meat over—it’s Jesica!
L: “Hey… I—uh—don’t know if you remember me… without makeup,” he stammers, blushing.
J: “How could I forget my hero! I tried calling you, but maybe you didn’t answer because it came up as private.
It’s not my phone—it’s my friend’s. I still don’t have one. They’re expensive and my insurance won’t cover it.”
L: “Well, at least now we know we’re neighbors. And you also know where to find me—Wednesday to Saturday nights at the club.
Come by Wednesday, it’s quieter, and we can talk a bit, okay?”
J: “Sounds good, Lolo—I’ll be there… You remembered my name!”
L: “Of course—and also your perfume.
J: “Well, I’ll let you get back to work. I’ve gotta get ready for my shift… Take care, my hero!”
“Maybe we dodge puddles to avoid the reflection of what we fear most…
But maybe that reflection brings us closer to who we really are.”
Meanwhile, Otto is watching one of those Turkish dramas he loves.
Suddenly, a message appears on his phone:
“I’m really sorry. I hope I didn’t hurt you. I just needed money…
I took your business card from the taxi.
Maybe it’s destiny or coincidence. Kiss, Luca.”
“Thank you for your words.
Yes, it was just a bad moment—but that doesn’t excuse violence, especially when I thought we were having such a good time…
Life has a way of showing you that even the most angelic face can hide a demon.
Sending a kiss. Stay in touch, little devil.
Have a good night.”
To be continued…
